Big Four Theory

In an episode of the Big Bang Theory, Raj claims he (actually his
parents) have only four servants.

Later, at a fundraiser, he says he has more servants than the number
of people working at the fundraiser, and that number is considerably
larger than 4 people.

Even on TV shows, some people stretch the truth. For example, your musings are cogent.

True. There are many reasons for “continuity errors” on TV shows. I just enjoy pointing them out. Sometimes the show’s creators even explain away “continuity errors” (like Jeff on Community explaining why they’ve been in community college for 3 years, even though many community colleges grant degrees in 2 years).
