(You): How do I install simon_0.3.0-1ubuntu3_i386.deb on a Fedora 11 machine? It was the only download available, there was no fedora-specific version.
(Ali): can’t you just download the source version (usually a file with .tar.gz extension) and build it from source in fedora?
(You): that’s what I’d like to do, but http://sourceforge.net/projects/speech2text/ [http://sourceforge.net/projects/speech2text/] has only one button?
(Ali): well, there is another button labelled “view all files” just next to the “download” button, if you click on it, you will find all other formats. there is also a fedora specific package there.
(You): yeah, I found it right after I replied… I’m dling the fedora stuff now. Thanks :)
(Kenneth): I don’t know about Fedora or simon in particular, but sometimes alien can convert packages.
(You): thanks. It turns out the other download options were hidden and I now have the source.
